John Frieda Frizz-Ease Review

If I do not blow dry my hair, it’s curly. And along with that curliness, I’m cursed with frizzy hair. I’ve never been a fan of my hair (unless it’s right after my stylist has worked on it and made it look perfect), so I am always looking to try new products that can help me look like I just walked out of the salon.

When I was in L.A. in June, I experienced even more frizz than I have to deal with in Utah, and my friend was quite serious in suggesting that I try something like FRIZZ EASE.

For the past few weeks, I have been washing and conditioning my hair with a FRIZZ EASE hair care system by John Frieda. I’ve been using the Smooth Start Repairing Shampoo, Smooth Start Repairing Conditioner, and the Hair Serum Thermal Protection Formula.

The shampoo helps your hair to retain its natural moisture. More moisture in your hair means your hair will avoid the frizz. The conditioner works to seal split ends, and keeps your hair feeling soft and more easily managed. The hair serum coats the hair to protect from exposure to heat styling (which is a cause of frizz).

At first, I was really enjoying using this system. I felt that I did see a difference in my hair; I found I wasn’t adding any additional product in my hair to try to tame the frizz that I always seem to have. Now it’s a couple of weeks later, and I feel like the FRIZZ EASE products are too heavy for my hair. My stylist says that I have fine textured hair, and though I have a lot of hair, products like these can weigh down my hair. I couldn’t keep any body in my hair, and most days I was pulling it in a tight ponytail–which is quite the feat with a short A-line hair cut. I also stopped using the serum altogether; my hair took much longer to dry when I used the serum, and as a busy mom and writer, I want to spend as little time as I possibly can to get ready.

Unfortunately, I don’t think the FRIZZ EASE products are the right choice for my hair. The only way to really know if something is right for you is to try it for yourself. If you have thicker hair, you may have more success using these products. I have used other John Frieda products in the past and been quite happy with them.
