Weight Loss

Weeks Five & Six on Nutrisystem #NSNation

I wish I had something uplifting to say for myself about the last two weeks, but I don’t. Just when I think I have one thing mastered with my Nutrisystem meal plan, something else goes wrong. It’s actually been about 2 weeks since I last checked in with you all, but truthfully I couldn’t bring myself to write anything because I feel like a big failure.

It’s now the beginning of Week 7 for me, and if my great progress had continued, I would have lost a total of about 6 lbs. Week 5 presented a lot of problems with drinking enough water. I just couldn’t keep up with the 64 oz. per day requirement. Trying to force myself to drink water wasn’t a good plan. And my appetite lately has been really crazy as well; I’ve experienced some bloating and even cramp-like feelings.

The good news in all of this is that I’m finding there are more and more sweet or restaurant-type foods that I really don’t enjoy all that much. Something at least is changing with my body and my taste buds, so for that I will be grateful. The past few weeks have been especially difficult because it’s my birthday tomorrow (August 20th). I’ve signed up to a lot of restaurants that like to send me free meals or desserts, and it’s my birthday…I didn’t want to miss out! Who knew you could literally gain 1 lb. over night just by eating an ice cream brownie? Well, it’s true. And I wasn’t very happy about it. I will not be eating that ice cream brownie EVER again, of that I can assure you.

I feel like I am slowly getting back on track, but I am really bummed about the 2 lbs. that should have been lost in the last two weeks. I also need to step it up with exercising. At the beginning, we were going for walks almost nightly, which helped me out a lot, I think. Now I have a lot of things on my non-food plate to do that require lots of sitting in front of a computer, so I’m not as mobile as I would like to be.

The last couple of days I have been the model of perfection, and I feel like I will have more positive results to report next week.

I weighed in this week at 147.4 lbs., which is .2 lbs. more than what I weighed at my last post on August 4th.

My measurements this week are as follows:

  • Upper Arms: 11.0
  • Chest: 35.5
  • Waist: 32
  • Hips: 37
  • Thighs: 22.5

And if someone can give me some tips on how to avoid that regular soda craving I sometimes get, that would be appreciated!
