Week Four on Nutrisystem #NSNation

This last week on Nutrisystem brought me a fresh shipment of pantry-ready foods and frozen foods to replenish my dwindling stock. I ordered several of the same items, only ordering the foods I really loved. Every person that signs up to try Nutrisystem is going to find there are foods that s/he doesn’t like; I think it’s really important to double/triple/quadruple orders for the meals you know you will eat, the ones that you look forward to having each morning/noon/night.

Along with new food choices to mix in with what I still had left, my in-laws came for a visit. On Friday and Saturday we spent nearly all day and night with them, so it was practically impossible to stick to the Nutrisystem plan. We went to the zoo, and while walking around in the heat up and down the hills certainly burned calories, I was incredibly thirsty and wanted something cool and refreshing. I couldn’t make up my mind, so I walked away from the ice cream stand with an ice cream and a soda. I’d only eaten a yogurt and not even my Nutrisystem meal yet because of how quickly we’d needed to leave home, so I justified ordering both of those. Dinner proved challenging when no one could agree on a sit-down restaurant at our outdoor mall. Instead, we headed for the food court. Choices were: Panda Express, McDonald’s, Subway, Dairy Queen, Edo, Sbarro, and Taco Time. The best option I had was to get just a sandwich at Subway, but I opted for Sbarro instead. Sbarro does have salads, but I went for a slice.

So what I want you guys to learn from me is that you should make the best of any situation. Choose the healthy option, even if it’s not the one you really want. Maybe psychologically you won’t be satisfied, but nutritionally, you will be. Then by the time your journey on a weight loss plan is finished, you will have results. And you will thank yourself for loving your body.

Despite the two days of making poor decisions, I lost almost 2 lbs. This morning I weighed in at 147.2 lbs.; if I’m really dedicated this week, I could make up for the lb. I didn’t lose last week. My measurements were about the same:
