My Review:

Watching The Smurfs these past couple of weeks made me feel so nostalgic. I LOVED The Smurfs when I was a kid. I used to look forward to every Saturday morning at 9 am when it would come on. Crazy how I remember the time it came on, but it was my absolute favourite show.

This DVD collection is wonderful! Some of the episodes even seemed vaguely familiar to me. I was really born in 1978 so was a young child when it came on TV. I remembered the evil Gargamel and his cat Azrael and how much they detested Smurfs and always tried to eat them. My favourite back then was Brainy Smurf. I always had a thing for him…maybe it was the glasses?

These episodes are the perfect length for small children to capture their attention. They are only about 15 minutes long, but are very entertaining even though I’m now an adult in my 30s! I even started singing the theme song and John looked at me like I was nuts. He told me though that even he watched The Smurfs as a youngster.

I’m so glad they released these old episodes on DVD so that I can now share them with my children and show them what their mom used to watch when she was a little girl. The Smurfs are now a timeless classic and if you were a child in the 80s like me, then pick up a copy and see if you can remember any of the episodes.
