Back to School with Hilroy Review

When I think back to school supplies, the first brand that comes to mind is Hilroy. My mom used to buy their products for me when I was a kid in school and now I’m purchasing them for my children. You can always count on top quality products at affordable prices with Hilroy.

This back-to-school season I’ve got two kids to get ready! Olivia is going into grade 8 and Bridget is going into grade 2 so obviously they will both be needing different types of supplies. Thankfully, Hilroy has products that both girls can use!

I actually already have a few of their products already and the girls are excited to be able to use them. For Olivia, I have the Zwipes Zipper Binder, Five Star Xpanz Zipper Binder and Shape It Up Binder and for Bridget, I have the Recycled Fashion Binder and Recycled Fashion Pocket Pencil Case. They even have something for me- Mom’s Ultimate Fridge Calendar.

Olivia is extremely picky with her tastes now that she has become a teenager and wants everything to look “cool”. There’s no way she would ever accept anything that looked “childish”. Crazy how they change so quickly! I showed Olivia her stash from Hilroy and she loved them and brought them right up to her room.

The Zwipes Zipper Binder is so neat! I wish we had these when I was a teen. I remember always marking up my binders. With this binder, you can write/doodle/draw whatever you want with the Zwipes marker (included with the binder) and then erase it whenever you like.  I like that you can zip them closed so no papers will fall out. Inside there’s lots of room. In addition to storing your 3 hole sheets of paper, you can also use the case inside to store rulers, pens, pencils, etc. Plus, there’s a section where you can file lose sheets of paper- great for handouts that aren’t 3 hole punched! The Zwipes Zipper Binders come in three colours- sky blue, magenta and red and are very sleek and stylish.

The Five Star Xpanz Zipper Binder is both stylish and durable with a large storage capacity. It has a front pocket that zips open for extra storage of notebooks, calculators, paper, etc. Inside is the three ring binder, mesh pocket for pens and pencils and an expanding storage file for loose papers.

The Shape It Up Binder is bold and bright and Olivia’s personal favourite out of all the binders. She loves the look! It’s a typical 1.5 ” 3 ring binder that looks like its quite sturdy and will last. This collection comes in three patterns available on binders, pocket and prong portfolios, notebooks, pencil cases, and a desk pad planner.

Hilroy also has eco-friendly back to school products. Bridget will be bringing the Recycled Fashion Binder and Recycled Fashion Pencil Case with her to school this year. This line comes in three retro-inspired designs. Portfolios are made with 30% post-consumer waste (PCW) and notebooks are made with 100% recycled paper, made with 30% PCW. The binder cover is made from 100% recycled chipboard and the pencil case is made of recycled PET materials. In terms of style, The Recycled Fashion binder and pencil case are my personal faves. I love the bright colours and fun design. Bridget’s binder is pink with pretty butterflies and flowers – perfect for her!

I’ve actually been purchasing Mom’s Ultimate Family Fridge Calendar for years! Why? Because I find it so helpful in keeping organized, love the look of it,  and it’s a good size for my large handwriting and recording multiple activities on the same day. The reminder stickers are always fun to put on for birthdays, lessons, holidays, etc. If you don’t have enough room on your fridge for the large calendar, you can purchase the smaller and more compact version. I’m sticking with the big one since it’s worked so well for me over the years. It’s available in both English and French.

Be sure to check out the Hilroy Facebook page as well for back to school giveaways and promotions!
