Lavish & Lime Review

The amount of lunch related waste produced by school age children is staggering with all of plastic wrap, foil, bags and storage containers that are thrown away every day so I was delighted to learn that Lavish & Lime has a new Waste-Free Lunch system that is not only eco-concious but super stylish, affordable and fun too!

Lavish & Lime is a fabulous Eco-Boutique in Vancouver, Canada that has a wide selection of high quality, affordable eco-friendly products for the entire family. I am really impressed with all of the products in the Waste-Free Lunch system including hip reusable lunch bags, snack and sandwich wraps, stainless steel and glass containers, reusable water bottles and even cutlery and straws!

I absolutely adore the Kids PVC-free Neoprene-like Lunch Bags. The funky styles are so neat and the Chicken inspired lunch bag is a big hit in our home. My husband’s nickname is “Rooster” so my six year old son immediately claimed this lunch bag from Lavish & Lime for himself and declared it fit for a “Little Rooster”. This brightly colored flexible lunch bag is made of lightweight yet durable neoprene (yes, like a wet suit type material) and it has a convenient zipper compartment as well as an additional pocket in the front. This lunch bag is insulated so it will help control food temperatures that will help to ensure a safe lunch. It is also durable, stain resistant and machine washable too. As a safety eco-concious mom, I appreciate that this lunch bag is Oeko-Tex 100 standard certified and does not contain lead, phthalates or PVC so my children are not exposed to harmful chemicals or toxins when they are eating lunch every day. With fun designs like a bug, cow, rocket, cheeky monkey and sweetcakes there is sure to be a Neoprene-like Lunch Bag to get every child excited to bring their lunch to school this year.

The Non-Toxic Lunch Box Cube is a brilliant idea that stores my child’s lunch in one container including sandwiches, snacks and more. What makes this compact cube so special is that it has two convenient chambers with the first one perfectly sized for a sandwich or other entrée. The lower level is a divided compartment with three sections that can hold crackers, grapes, cheese cubes etc. and it simply snaps open and shut making it easy for children to use. It is so hard to find plastic containers that do not contain potentially health hazardous chemicals so I was thrilled that this Non-Toxic Lunch Box Cube is certified BPA-free, does not contain lead or phthalates and is made using durable, 100% recyclable polypropylene plastic #5 and is independently lab-tested for food safety. Affordably priced at only $15.00, this convenient, safe, all-in-one container is a wonderful waste-free lunch option. I am going to stock up on these Lunch Box Cubes for each of my children and my husband who brings his lunch to work every day.

I am big fan of reusable snack bags and I am proud that we have not used a plastic baggie for lunches in over three years…..even my husband is a fan. I love the modern, fun designs available at Lavish & Lime and particularly the Snack Flap Single Snack Pouch which is perfect to hold fruit, crackers, veggies and more. It has a hook and loop closure to secure the contents and it is made out of 100% cotton fabric. I hand wash our snack pouch in warm soapy water and air dry but it is machine washable too. There is a lovely selection of designer fabrics and styles to choose from at Lavish & Lime and it is a fun, affordable way to add to our reusable bag collection.

I really like shopping at Lavish & Lime….the eco-friendly product selection is high quality and affordably priced. The customer service is friendly and helpful too! You are invited to visit Lavish & Lime to purchase all of the products in the Waste-Free Lunch system or to browse all of the wonderful products in the online boutique.
