I do the majority of my cooking with oil olive and recently even started to use it in baking (read my upcoming review of the Olive Oil Desserts Cookbook). Recently, I had the opportunity to try a delicious extra virgin olive oil by Three Olives™ and it is fabulous!
Created by Anna Zoitas, this artisanal olive oil is unfiltered and is grown and produced in California. I really appreciate that it is made with 100% California olives so it is truly “made in the U.S.A.” The olive oil has a wonderful subtle and fruity taste that worked beautifully drizzled over grilled asparagus and as a dipping sauce for fresh bread…..it was so tasty!
The olives selected for the delicious blend includes:
• The Fruity Arbequina
While the olive oil is produced in California, this small olive is native to Spain’s Catalonia region. Soft textured and delicately flavored, it’s delicious served with pasta, salads or as an hors d’oeuvre.
• The Fruity, Slightly Nutty Arbosana
This small, more robust olive has a fruity, slightly nutty flavor with a more pungent, peppery kick. Its high polyphenol level is believed to help reduce the risk of cancer and heart disease.
• The Very Fruity & Flavorful Koroneik
Originally from Kalamata, Greece, Koroneiki olives are very fruity, with a fabulous aroma, and help to make the olive oil exceptionally tasty.
