Miss Malaprop Review
I love shops that offer unique and creative handmade items and Miss Malaprop has an excellent offering of handcrafted and eco-friendly products. From gifts, jewelry, home décor, clothing, bath and beauty to organic finds there is something special for everyone.
Miss Malaprop was opened in 2010 by Mallory whose passion is to showcase her own handcrafted works and the work of other artists and designers. I love that there are so many creative items available in easy to shop categories such as recycled, organic, handmade and reusable.
The recycled aluminum earrings by jewelry artist Jeffrey Cullin of Lajazz Jewelry are handcrafted and are even more stunning up close. I love that these earrings are very lightweight and are very feminine and flattering. Miss Malaprop has a lovely selection of recycled aluminum earrings styles to choose from in her shop and I particularly like the Fleur De Lis and Pelican style earrings. I was very impressed with the pricing of these earrings at only $20 for such a unique, high quality piece of jewelry.
I love handmade soap and the Muddy Mississippi by Sweet Olives Soap Works is a fantastic moisturizing soap that combines olive oil, coconut oil, cocoa butter, Louisiana French Roast coffee, goat’s milk, Oatmeal and Unsweetened Dark Chocolate. It has the most amazing rich scent of chocolate and coffee and it is very moisturizing. The actual bar itself holds together quite nicely and is long lasting. These would make fantastic and affordable gift ideas or you could purchase one to pamper yourself.
Miss Malaprop showcases the talent of New Orleans and is such a fun shop. If you love fashion, check out the amazing reconstructed denim skirts.
