Dempster’s Thin Bagels Review
I’m always ravenous when I wake up in the morning so I’m not one to skip breakfast. Of course, I need to have my coffee, but I also need sustenance. I eat bagels a few times a week for breakfast and I’m aware that they are not the best choice for a person who should be watching their weight. They are just SO GOOD and hard to give up.
I recently discovered Dempster’s Thin Bagels and have been hooked on them! They are only 100 calories per bagel so you can still that bagel taste, but without the extra calories. In fact, these are the first complete line of 100 calorie thin bagels in Canada. They are perfect for people who are practicing portion control and watching what they eat.
I tried out all three varieties: White with Whole Grains, Multigrain 100% Whole Grains and Cinnamon Raisin and they were all delicious. I’m partial to the Cinnamon Raisin though so I would say that one was my personal favourite. John liked the White with Whole Grains. They are also a great size for my youngest daughter who can never finish a bagel…the thin bagel is just right!
Not only are the Dempster’s Thin Bagels only 100 calories, but they are also low in saturated fat and have no trans fat or cholesterol. I like mine with just a little butter or jam. John takes his with plain cream cheese. I’ve also been using the White and Multigrain thin bagels instead of bread for sandwiches.
They come in packages of six and are now available across Ontario, Quebec and Atlantic Canada in the bakery aisle at major grocery stores like Co-op Atlantic, Food Basics, Freshco, IGA, Price Choppers, Sobeys, Super C and Walmart. I buy mine at Sobeys.
If you are a bagel lover like me, pick up a package on your next shopping trip and give them a try! I’ll be getting more on my next trip.
