Simply Stacie Goes to Hollywood | The Itinerary
As promised, here are more details about my upcoming trip to Hollywood! Disney and DreamWorks invited 20 mom bloggers to attend a long, 4-day weekend experiencing special sneak previews of Winnie the Pooh, Cars 2, and The Help. In addition, we will also be getting the opportunity to attend a red carpet event and the after party for Cars 2! I have always dreamed of what it would be like to attend a red carpet event and all the festivities that take place afterward, so this is literally a dream come true for me.
Each night I’ll be writing up a post with all the details of what goes on throughout our day. Here’s a bit of a sneak peek of what’s to come:
Wednesday, June 15th: I’m leaving Salt Lake City in the early afternoon and landing at LAX in the late afternoon. A driver will pick me and some of the other moms arriving at the same time at the baggage claim, and we’ll then be whisked off to the Renaissance Hotel to check in. Once all the moms arrive, we’ll be treated to a welcome dinner across the street at the Roosevelt Hotel.
Thursday, June 16th: This is my wedding anniversary (we’ll have been married for 4 years on this date) and I will be spending the day learning all about the new movie Winnie the Pooh. We’ll get to meet some of the voice artists, the directors, and the animators after being shown the movie. I’m particularly looking forward to the Animation Studios Tour because I am one of those people who finds it absolutely fascinating to watch the “behind the scenes” features on my Disney DVDs. We get a free night this night, so if possible, I plan on meeting up with a high school and college friend for dinner and a night hanging out at the beach. Sounds heavenly!
Friday, June 17th: After breakfast we’ll be seeing a screening of DreamWorks’ The Help. I read the book for book club a couple of years ago, and I think it will make an excellent movie. If you haven’t read the book, I’d highly encourage you to do that before the movie hits theatres. Kathryn Stockett is a talented writer, and I absolutely recommend this book. Later on this day we’ll be going on a tour of the Disney Studio Archives (sounds intriguing!!) and then finishing the night up with a screening of Cars 2.
Saturday, June 18th: This is the day I am most looking forward to! We’ll be meeting director John Lasseter (oh, A Bug’s Life, how I love you!) and some of the voice artists for Cars 2, including Owen Wilson (Lightning McQueen), Larry the Cable Guy (Mater), Eddie Izzard (Miles Axelrod), and John Turturro (Francesco Bernoulli) in a group interview. We get a free afternoon to prepare for the icing on the cake: the red carpet premiere of Cars 2! I don’t know about the other moms, but I’m so freaking out over this! I’m going to use this time wisely, to style my hair and get glamoured up. After Cars 2, we’ll then get to join in on the fun at the premiere party.
Sunday, June 19th: This is the part where I will have to be dragged out kicking and screaming to the airport to take me back to Salt Lake City. It shouldn’t be too hard because I’ll be getting in the van to get taken to the airport at 4:30 a.m., and will be too tired to put up too much of a fight. I know I am going to love Hollywood so much that I’ll want to stay!
I’m also very eager to make some new friends, so let me also introduce you to the other moms attending this very special event.
