Original Sprout Review

My husband, daughter, and I all use different shampoos and conditioners. Ideally, I’d love to find a shampoo and conditioner that would work for all of us, but we all have different needs. For example, I have color-treated hair and occasionally I’ll try a shampoo and conditioner that are designed to make the color stay longer. For my daughter Zoe, we buy shampoos that reduce tangles in her curly/wavy hair. And my husband seems to choose a different shampoo and conditioner every time he runs out of his current supply.

I love trying new shampoos and conditioners, and in the last few years I have been more conscious of what I am buying. After reading about Original Sprout on their website, I was very excited to try their product. Original Sprout fully discloses each and every ingredient included in their products, and eliminates harmful ingredients such as sulfates (causes dryness in scalp) and formaldehyde (which has a link to cancer). For the past month I have enjoyed using Original Sprout’s Natural Shampoo (33 oz. for $42.95), Deep Conditioner (33 oz. for $44.95), and Miracle Detangler (12 oz. for $24.95) on our hair. Since Original Sprout products are organic (and I’d like to add that they are vegetarian and vegan friendly!), they should only be used for up to 2 years from the date they are opened. Each of these three products has a very pleasant, clean smell to them. I love the way that our hair looks and feels after cleansing with the shampoo and deep conditioner. The Miracle Detangler is a godsend because Zoe simply hates having her hair brushed out. Her natural ringlet curls tangle very easily, and before Miracle Detangler was brought into our home it took me at least 30 minutes of coming out her hair while listening to her scream and cry over how much it hurt (in my defense, Zoe is a bit of a drama queen!). The Miracle Detangler worked quickly to make her hair easy to comb through. Additionally, I don’t have to worry that I’m putting anything harmful on my daughter’s hair or skin. It can also be used on dry hair as well as wet hair, which is great because I don’t wash her hair every single night.

Original Sprout’s website is a wealth of information on hair care, ingredients, and even styling tips. I’m very grateful to Inga Tritt, the founder of Original Sprout, for creating a family-friendly formula and for educating me on what should and should not go onto my family’s hair. I especially love that the uses for all the ingredients in these products are written out in detail so I know what to look for when buying similar products.
