Michael Season’s Review

I tend to be a sweet person rather than savoury snacker but, that being said, I do love to eat chips! Whenever I choose chips, I always prefer Kettle Chips because I love the crispiness and the deep flavours. Like all good things, I’ve tried many different varities and found some that I love and others that I’d never buy again! That being said, I was interested to try out Michael Season’s New Kettle Cooked Potato Chips because I wanted to see how they would compare to the other brands I have tried.

When the Michael Season’s Kettle Cooked Potato Chips arrived, I discovered that I was going to be able to try all five different flavours! With flavours including Lightly Salted, Unsalted, Sea Salt & Basalmic Vinegar, Honey BBQ and Jalepeno, there are flavours for all different kinds of taste! I personally tried the Lightly Salted, Sea Salt & Basalmic Vinegar and Honey BBQ while I had a couple of friends try out the Unsalted and Jalepeno because I knew they wouldn’t suit my tastes!

Of the three flavours that I tried, I was impressed with them all for different reasons. I liked the Lightly Salted Kettle Chips because the flavour was pure and surprisingly complex – I was amazed that so few ingredients could yield such an amazing product! I had assumed that I would want to eat these chips with dips, as I don’t usually like chips that are salted only but I found myself eating them on my own because I enjoyed them so much. I was also surprised by how much I enjoyed the Sea Salt & Basalmic Vinegar chips – I often find salt and vinegar chips to be too sour but, in contrast, the use of basalmic vinegar gave these chips a slight sweetness that complimented the tang of the vinegar. It’s a good thing I only had one bag of these chips because I could have eaten them all day! And the Honey BBQ? AMAZING! The sweetness of the honey along with the complex flavour of the bbq sauce was a total winner. Hands down, these were my favourite flavour!

I was surprised at how much my friend enjoyed the Unsalted variety. Because she has to watch her salt intake, she is a connisseur of salt-free products and she said these were the best unsalted chips she’d ever eaten. She actually asked me where I got the chips and I took her to the website and, when I left her, she was discussing taking a trip to the States this spring and plans to buy more of these chips!

My friend who helped me review the Jalepeno chips took them home and woke up the next morning to discover that her husband had eaten the entire bag! He told her that he thought they were great and he really enjoyed the sharp flavour of the jalepeno in contrast to the crunchiness of the chips.

Michael Season’s Kettle Cooked Potato Chipswere a hit with everyone who tried them! I hope they will start selling these chips in Canada soon because I would buy them!
