Do you have pain or stress? I suffer from lower back pain and also care for my three young children ages 3, 4 and 6 so I certainly have a fair amount of stress on a daily basis. I have had good results with professional acupressure in the past but the cost became prohibitive. I was thrilled to discover an affordable solution that I could use in the privacy of my own home.
The Heavenly Acupressure Mat works by targeting pressure points in the body and triggering the release of endorphins and oxytocin-which in turn can help the body by relieving pain and stress.” When the mat arrived at my home, I admit that I was initially a bit intimidated by the 42 contact points and 210 buttons, providing 8,820 contact points. Once my children were settled into bed and I had a few minutes to myself, I laid down on the mat with my back making contact with the contact points. At first it was a bit uncomfortable but then I noticed that my skin started to feel warm and pleasantly tingly as my body responded to the mat. I was able to lie on the mat for 15 minutes (20 minute is optimal) and truly felt relaxed and had a restful night’s sleep that night. The next day, I noticed my lower back didn’t hurt as much as usual. After six uses, I apparently adjusted to the mat because I didn’t have any initial discomfort with use at all. I have used the Heavenly Acupressure Mat almost every night since I received it because of the pain and stress relief it provides.
My husband has severe shoulder pain and occasionally uses the mat too. Because he has a different tolerance level he uses a light piece of cloth between the mat and the skin and reports that this makes it much more comfortable for him.
What is acupressure? According to the Heavenly Acupressure Mat website, it is described as, “an ancient Chinese healing therapy that has been around for over 5,000 years. The basic premise of acupressure is that your body is full of a life force called “Chi”, which flows through your body. When your “Chi” becomes blocked or restricted you can become ill, tired, stressed, or unhappy.”
