Dreams of Glass Review
Each piece of handcrafted jewelry is made using ancient glass blowing techniques that have been passed down over the centuries. I recently became interested in this process after reading some fantasy novels that featured a protagonist that worked with blown glass. Since then, I’ve really wanted to own a piece of jewelry or statue made in such a fashion.
The particular glass pendant that I chose is called the Chameleon. It is made from dichroic glass, which is a Greek word that means “two” and “color”. As you can see from the photograph, there are two prominent colors featured in this gorgeous pendant, a purple and a green. But when I look at the glass from different angles, the colors change. I absolutely love the chain from which it hangs as well, which is a thick sterling silver. The chain is just right in length as well as girth. When I first fastened it around my neck, my adorable 3-year-old daughter commented, “you look kinda like a princess.” At 3 years old, she already has exceptional taste in fine jewelry!
It was so difficult for me to choose just one piece; there were so many more pendants that I loved as well, especially from the Unique Necklaces collection. In particular, I love the piece that is called Untouched Waters. Most especially, I love the loopy chain from which it hangs.
If you’re stumped on what to get your mother for Mother’s Day, stop by Dreams of Glass and check out their unique pieces. Any mother would feel special receiving a gift box from Dreams of Glass.
