Title: How to Hit a Curveball: Confront and Overcome the Unexpected in Business

Author: Scott R Singer, with Mark Levine

My Review:

I really like books that either mean something, or help you in one capacity or another, this book is no different. This book is going to help you deal with the issues that come in your life that you didn’t plan on, such as a breakup, a divorce, or other type of events like this. It is set up (obviously) in a baseball type of theme, with quotes on every few pages to help you along the way. Chapter one starts out with spring training, just starting to figure out there is a problem, or after the problems have brought you to another place in your life. It helps you to look at things, and go through a transition, looking back on the things you really need to in your business.

The first inning will get you to look at feelings and behaviors that got you where you are at…plus ways to change things for you particularly. Each chapter is a different inning, each helping you in different directions. You are going to get the quotes in each chapter that will help with the topic that is getting talked about. At the end of each chapter, you will get a paragraph talking about the chapter you are done with…to get you to think a bit about what you’ve just read. Write down your thoughts in some sort of a journal to keep track of how far you have come.

This book is down to earth, honest, and will get you to look at things differently, especially if you want the change in the first place. Little things for me hit the spot, being patient for things, overcoming being impulsive, being in control…amongst other things, like the quotes! This is a great book…put it on your list if you are looking for help in dealing with that little stuff that happens in a business. The best part of this book is you can use the concepts for everyday life too…not just for your business.

*I received a copy of this book to review but I was not financially compensated in any way. The opinions expressed are my own and are based on my observations while reading this novel.*
