Book Review | Driftwood Cottage
Author: Sherryl Woods
Driftwood Cottage, the 5th book in the Chesapeake Shores series by Sherryl Woods was the perfect beach read. Though it is the first book that I have read by this author, I felt that it was quite easy to read this independently of the other books in the series. However, I am interested in learning more about the O’Brien clan that I am tempted to go back and read the earlier titles too. Driftwood Cottage centers around Heather Donovan whose dream is to marry the father of her son and the love of her life, Connor O’Brien…..the only problem is that this divorce attorney is still feeling the wounds of his parents bitter divorce and refuses to consider marriage despite his own deep love for Heather and his son. Heather ultimately makes the difficult decision to leave him and built a new life near his large, loving and out spoken family, the O’Briens’ in Chesapeake Shores, hoping to make Driftwood Cottage her own.
Will Heather ultimately keep her hopes and dreams alive and rekindle her romance with Connor? Driftwood Cottage is warm and funny and I thoroughly enjoyed becoming engaged in the family dynamics. The location really makes this story interesting because it is easy to dream of living in this quaint town. The only minor downside is the constant references to marriage and the subsequent pros/cons which could get a bit tedious at times. This was the perfect light read while relaxing on the beach, watching my husband and kids at play and enjoying my own family.
The author has written over 100 romance and mystery books…you are invited to learn more about Driftwood Cottage by visiting her website.
