Gulliver’s Travels DVD Review
Here is a comedic twist loosely based on the classic novel written by Jonathan Swift. It stars actor Jack Black. I originally intended to watch this as a family movie night selection but realized that this is not necessarily for young children because it is rated PG (there was some mild language and mild crude humor). So after the kids were in bed, my husband and I watched this together. There are some cute and funny moments to this movie and overall it was entertaining in a silly way largely due to the facial expressions and comedic timing of the talented Jack Black.
Gulliver’s Travels is a story about a man (Jack Black) who is stuck in a dead end job and ultimately ends up shipwrecked in the land of Lilliput. He transforms into a giant and is subsequently captured then adored by the little people of Lilliput as adventure and romance abound. I think this movie would be fun for children ages 9-12 and overall my husband and I enjoyed a few chuckles.
Get ready for the upcoming release of Gulliver’s Travels which releases on DVD, Digital Copy, Fun Pack and 3 disc Triple Play with Blu-Ray on April 19th.
