Lunapads Review

I admit that at first I was a bit timid and uncertain about using washable cloth menstrual pads. I have used a Diva Cup for the last year and combined it with a washable cloth pad as a liner. All of my apprehension was for nothing because I love it and would never go back to tampons and disposable pads.

I got excited when I discovered Lunapads which offers a full line of products to support “eco positive periods.” Lunapads has reusable washable cloth pads in a variety of sizes and shapes. My main concern about using a washable cloth is that I was afraid it would be very messy but the reality is that Lunapads uses 2 layers of highly absorbent fleece and the flow seems to “vanish” inside so it stays relatively clean on top of the pad. Then I simply do a mini-load of wash and put my Lunapads away in a cloth bag until needed for the next month. The quality is very nice and the stitching has held up to washing without any noticeable fraying. There is a snap button that keeps the Lunapad attached to your underpants.

I had the opportunity to try the Lunapads Organic Sampler Pack which is a wonderful and affordable way to try out the line and see which ones you prefer to use. This set includes pads for average flow and liners for light flow or back up to the diva pad (this is how I used it). I used the organic maxi pad with a maxi wing liner together if I wasn’t using the Diva Cup and was very pleased with this combination.

Here is what you will receive with the Lunapads Organic Sampler Pack for only $33.99 which saves you $5 off the retail price:

  • 1 Organic Mini Pantiliner
  • 1 Organic Maxi Pad
  • 1 Maxi Basic Liner
  • 1 Maxi Wing Liner

If you are a bit skeptical as I once was about using reusable washable pads then I would encourage you to at least consider trying it once to see if it works for you. I am so glad that I did and feel great that I am making an eco-friendly decision too. You are invited to visit the Lunapads website to view the entire line of feminine health products and while you are there you can stock up on the website savings being offered right now too.
