Earthy Crunchy Mama Review
Over six years ago when I made the decision to lead an eco-positive lifestyle as much as possible it was so difficult to actually find the products I needed which was quite frustrating. Thankfully, it has become easier than ever to find high quality and affordable natural living products for the entire family. Earthy Crunchy Mama is one excellent example of a store that is eco-friendly, affordable and has a diverse selection of products for babies and children, women and the household.
I have been using reusable shopping bags but had not found an option when selecting produce at the market and still used those little plastic bags which ended up in the trash or recycle bin at home. I was happy to discover that there is an alternative available at Earthy Crunchy Mama…….the Organic Cotton Produce Bags which are available in sizes small or medium. I just carry my produce bags in my shopping bag which makes it easy to use (and I don’t have to worry about forgetting it) and simply fill it up with our favorite fruits and vegetables. Eco-Bag produce bags are made of certified organic cotton and have a drawstring closure. I used the large size bag and it held over three pounds of apples securely. It is very lightweight and at only $2.95 (small) and $3.75 (large) it is affordable too!
Another alternative if you prefer is the Organic Net Sacks at only $2.49-$5.00 and in sizes small, medium and large. I have not tried this particular style yet but think it would be excellent for avocados, citrus etc.
Do you ever buy a bag of potatoes or onions and then before you realize it the vegetables have either sprouted or rotted? Surely I am not the only one this has happened too and when it does I am frustrated that I wasted food and money. I got so excited to find the Orka® Vegetable Keep Sack at Earthy Crunchy Mama which uses natural cotton and linen to “keep veggies fresher longer.” It works by keeping out the light that causes the produce to break down or sprout. I used this to store our organic potatoes and really like how easy it is to use. I put in four pounds of organic brown (baking style) potatoes and hung it up on the wall by the attached loop in a corner of my pantry. The feature that I find works best is that there is a drawstring at both ends which made it easy to pull out the potatoes from the bottom and add the new produce in at the top. This way you are using the older produce first. I am really anticipating this to be a super product to have handy in my kitchen as my organic garden starts to produce lots fruits and vegetables. Earthy Crunchy Mama is proud that theOrka® Vegetable Keep Sack won Gourmet Gold award in 2009! You can purchase these bags depending on your size need in 2lb (garlic or shallot), 4lb (onion) or 8lb (potatoes) ranging in price from $8-$10.
I had a lot of fun browsing the product selection at Earthy Crunchy Mama cloth diapers, baby carriers, laundry detergents (I am excited about this category), reusable lunch bags, nursing products and so much more. You are invited to view the entire selection at Earthy Crunchy Mama at their website.
