Blog Spotlight | Books for Company

Today I would like to welcome Jodie from Books for Company. I had a chance to learn more about her blog and here’s what she had to say:

Please tell me about yourself.

I am 18 years old and live in the UK. I LOVE reading, mostly YA, and Romance. I spend most of my time reading, blogging or with my family. My current project is setting up a UK book giveaway blog which is for any UK followers. My other project is running my main blog, Books for Company.

Please tell me about your blog.

I try to make my blog stand out that little bit more, l do reviews and also do other features like comparing Hardback and Paperback covers. My aim is to help people find new books which l hope they will love!I mentioned above about a blog l am setting up at the moment. I have had great support from UK bloggers so l am hoping to have a huge list of UK/International giveaways on this blog and also support fellow UK/International bloggers. I think sometimes its harder for people out of USA/Canada to get as involved.

How long have you been blogging?

Only since 18th October but l actually only started to get involved with memes beginning of December so not many people knew about my blog before then. I have had GREAT support and l am SO grateful of it.

How did you get started?

I used to post my reviews on the UK readitswapit site and l decided to put together a review site. l didn’t know there were so many other reviewers out there but it’s so great! It’s like a little community.

What kinds of products do you feature on your blog?

I only feature books and often do book giveaways

What was your favourite giveaway?

I have only had two so far but it has to be ‘You Against me’ Lots of people were thankful as it was international and not yet released in a few counties (including USA!)

Who does your blog appeal to?

I hope it appeals to any people who love reading books, mainly YA and paranormal book readers. l would love for it to get someone into reading different sort of books from what they might otherwise not read.

What direction do you see your blog going in the future?

My main and more than likely only focus will be books, l hope to be able to offer more reviews of books which are currently not released to help people choose between the MANY books of which to buy and read. I also want to make it fun for people to talk about their passion – reading, with other readers!

What is the biggest challenge you have faced so far with your blog?

I think it can be really struggle when you first first start out because you see blogs around you with around 500 followers and you only have 30, you think it’s going to put followers off but if your blog is good, people will join!

What do you love about blogging?

Meeting new people, it’s the best thing. I love how they are interested in and thankful for the reviews and the posts you make. It makes the hard work all worth while.

Do you have a blogging pet peeve?

Well l can’t think of one really, although l tend not to like blogs with things crowded on both sides, l also don’t like how when bloggers get lots of followers they seem to stop being grateful for their followers, comments and the great support. Oh and another one is having music on the blog which starts automatically! I guess l do have a few pet peeves after all.

Do you have any advice for the readers entering your giveaway? newbie review bloggers?

There is great support out there in the book reviewing bloggers community. Doing Meme’s really help to get viewers to your blog. Make your blog simple to get around, simple to look at and don’t crowd it up too much.

Tell me some of your favourite blogs that you read.

A great blog which is full of great reviews is removing stitchesFew sites which have been around a bit longer are Books with Bite, Miss Page-Turners City, Bibliophile Brouhaha . They are all GREAT blogs and also lovely bloggers who will support your blog back. There are too many to list!
