Book Review | Bite Me
Author: Julie Albert and Lisa Gnat
“Bite Me” a new cookbook by Julie Albert and Lisa Gnat, the “not-so-sweet, tiny-bit-salty sisters” is an excellent choice for home cooks who prefer to have delicious yet simple to make recipes when entertaining. I was wowed by the selection of 175 recipes that are presented in visually stunning photos that makes it hard to choose which one to make first. I finally decided on the Pecan-Crusted Lime Chicken for our first dish and it was simple yet tasted so delicious with the perfect combination of Dijon mustard, pecans, breadcrumbs, limes and chicken. The dish was moist and flavorful and a hit with young and old alike. In fact, my husband begged for the leftovers to take in his lunch box to work but there was nothing left. The next recipe really got me excited because I have wanted to make my own granola for some time (have you seen how much it costs for a tiny bag at the store?). The Wholesome Honey-Baked Granola was so delicious that no one thought that I had actually made it myself. In fact, my kids and husband liked it so much that we made a huge batch and bagged it up really nice to pass out to our neighbors and friends for the holidays. What is the next recipe on my list? The Bona Fide Key Lime Pie………..is your mouth watering yet?
I am a visually oriented cook so I really appreciate the lovely pictures which really gave me inspiration to start cooking. I loved the wit and humor sprinkled throughout by the authors and just think this is a fun, entertaining and delicious cookbook. You are invited to visit the Bite Me website which has lots of recipes, information and tips.
