Blog Spotlight: The Bewitchin’ Kitchen
Today I would like to welcome Randa from The Bewitchin’ Kitchen. I had a chance to learn more about her blog and here’s what she had to say…
Please tell me about yourself.
Where do I begin? In the last year and some months I have began a new journey in fitness and weight loss. I have lost 60 pounds, going on 70 and it’s a huge learning experience. I’m a newlywed, I finally had my big wedding June 26th. Let me just say, after a year of hardship and turmoil, it was well worth the wait. I love to cook, bake and try new things.
Please tell me about your blog.
The Bewitchin’ Kitchen started out as a recipe blog. I wanted a hard copy of all my recipes and I loved to share them with friends (rather then email them all of the time). After I had a couple companies contact me about reviews, I was hooked. The Bewitchin’ Kitchen is now a full out review and giveaway blog. I do add some personal posts, diet and fitness posts and savings posts as well.
How long have you been blogging?
I started blogging in June of 2009.
How did you get started?
A friend of mine had a blog and I loved the idea of it. Like I said in the “about your blog” question, it started as a recipe blog.
What kinds of products do you feature on your blog?
I like to feature products that make the life of the average woman and/or man that much easier! Whether it’s an eco friendly cleaning product, a vacuum or a chocolate to sink your teeth into for a moment of indulgence.
What was your favourite giveaway?
My favorite giveaweay was the Dyson giveaway I did back in April. It brought me many new subscribers and followers and I was very appreciative of that. Not too mention all the entries that were entered!
Who does your blog appeal to?
Most of my readers are female from the ages of 28-35. Back when I did my survery I believe 93% of my readers were all parents as well.
What direction do you see your blog going in the future?
My ultimate goal is to have more followers. My blog will change as I change with my life. It will follow me through pregnancies, babies and childhood and the reviews and giveaways will reflect that time in my life as well.
What is the biggest challenge you have faced so far with your blog?
Since I started working full time at The Brick I have had a hard time keeping up to date. I try to do a post every morning and everynight but with my job, working out, cooking dinner and trying to “relax” I notice I have been putting off a few posts until my days off.
What do you love about blogging?
I love emailing winners! Knowing I am bringing a little surprise to their day makes me smile.
Do you have a blogging pet peeve?
YES! When I am campaigning for reviews/giveaways I get really upset when I receive a negative response. Rather then simplying saying “no” I have had some companies tear a strip off me. I am also sick of this Google Page Rank turmoil I have been going through. Because of Google PR I am losing oppertunities for my readers (and myself).
Do you have any advice for the readers entering your giveaway? newbie review bloggers?
Post, post and post some more! Unlike some blogs, mine took a while to “take off”. With a little patience and persistance your blog will go a long way.
