Blog Spotlight | Multi-Testing Mommy
Today I would like to welcome Multi-Testing Mommy. I had a chance to learn more about her blog and here’s what she had to say…
Please tell me about yourself.
I just recently turned 35, but I what I’ve realized is that I’m never really going to feel too much older because I’m such a kid at heart.
I was a Kindergarten teacher before I became a Mom. I am now a stay at home Mom to two amazing children aged 2 and 5. I haven’t ever regretted the decision to stay at home with my kids and feel extremely blessed that I have been able to do so. I have a very supportive husband who has helped me quite a bit in my blogging journey!
Many people call me a creative and crafty person. Our kitchen walls are covered with creations that our children have made! I love all kinds of music. I love to sing. I have a secret passion to organize (and reorganize) which drives my husband nuts! I really enjoy baking.
I like to help people, to give advice when I can (only if it is asked for of course!) and I also like to be in the “know” about new techniques, resources and products out there.
Please tell me about your blog.
I love to write reviews on products from books to products for your body to toys to food to products for your home, even techie gadgets–you name it, I love to try them all out! I love trying out new things and being on the “up and up” on what is out there.
I don’t hesitate to share my opinions, my true opinions on products. I trust what other woman have to say about products, therefore I want to be honest with regards to my true thoughts on products that I test.
How long have you been blogging?
I have been blogging since my first born was an infant. I remember the days of nursing and typing one handed! Although it was difficult, in some ways I miss that! So, that was back in 2005.
How did you get started?
Gosh, I don’t remember exactly how I got started to be honest. But I do know that once I was introduced, there was absolutely no turning back! I’ve always been a bit of a computer addict (even in University), so it comes to no surprise to me that I found this little niche while being at home with my children! It’s a way to stay connected to the outside world. Being a stay at home Mom is amazing, but one can go a little crazy at times!
What kinds of products do you feature on your blog?
I feature all kinds of products from items for children, women, families and the home. I review toys, household items, personal care items, books, techie items, you name it!
What was your favourite giveaway?
My favourite giveaway was my Price Pfister giveaway where I gave away a kitchen or bathroom faucet. The only thing that really bummed me out was that I couldn’t open it up to Canadians! I was so excited to give such an awesome prize away to someone, I knew how happy I would be if I was able to get one of these faucets in my house so I figured someone would be just as happy to receive one from me.
Who does your blog appeal to?
I believe that my blog appeals to adults, likely more females than males and probably quite a few Moms simply because I like to talk about and review products, websites and information regarding parenting. However, I definitely wouldn’t say that you have to be a parent to enjoy all of the reviews and giveaways that I have to offer.
What direction do you see your blog going in the future?
I would love to see my readership increasing and I would also love to see myself being able to continuing to offer more giveaways to my amazing readers. As I change things around with the blogs that I write, I would like to be able to offer some little stories about my life (as a parent, a woman, a baker, an organizer and a crafter) on this blog as well.
What is the biggest challenge you have faced so far with your blog?
The biggest three challenges (hope it’s ok that I mention three) for me have been:
1) to gain the readership that I would like to have
2) to gain contacts in the PR world so that I can receive products for reviews and giveaways
3) to manage my time around my blog and the rest of my life–blogging is really time consuming
What do you love about blogging?
I love the people that I meet, the joy that I get out of giving to and helping out others and the ability to lose myself in another world other than parenting for a little while.
Do you have a blogging pet peeve?
I actually have two! When people don’t leave me a way of contacting them (email address) for giveaways. AND when people read but never comment on personal blog posts.
Do you have any advice for the readers entering your giveaway? newbie review bloggers?
1) Read all Giveaway Guidelines very carefully to make sure that you follow the rules to ensure proper entry into the giveaway!
2) If you really want to win something, enter as many ways as possible.
3) If you subscribe to my feeds, you will be able to check regularly for updates for new giveaways!
4) If you win, ensure you email me with your contact info (mailing address) within the required time line to claim your prize!
Tell me some of your favourite blogs that you read.
I find this a very tricky question because I don’t like to exclude anyone! I have many favourite blogs and websites. I subscribe to Google Reader and I have hundreds of subscriptions that I have a difficult time keeping up with. I’m going to leave it at that for now. You can head on over to my blog (on my sidebar) to see my links and Review Blogs links if you’re interested in seeing my lists.
