Blog Spotlight | 2 Boys + 1 Girl = One Crazy Mom

Today I would like to welcome Melanie from 2 Boys + 1 Girl = One Crazy Mom. I had a chance to learn more about her blog and here’s what she had to say…

Please tell me about yourself.

Hi I’m Melanie, mom of Two Boys and One Little Girl a/k/a a Teen, a Tween and a Toddler; I’m so blessed to have my three blessings along with a wonderful husband. Besides being a “baby” Blogger, I also work full time outside the house, I’m a soccer mom, a cook, a maid, a cap driver, a bank, an accountant, a coupon queen and best of all I’m still JUST a MOM… I’m also German and try to incorporate some of my background culture into my blog with recipes, ideas and traditions. I love to scrapbook and spend lots of time with my family.

Please tell me about your blog.

My Blog is all about how to save mom ( and dad’s) money and introduce moms, dad, grandparents, just about anyone with kids to new products that can make their life a lot easier when raising a healthy happy child and save a ton along the way, I also feature a

*LunchBox Tuesday where I either introduce a cool LunchBox product, ideas or recipes.

*Crock Pot Thursday, where I feature a Low cost Crock Pot meal.

*Fun Saturday, pretty much anything will go as long as the kids have a good time from homemade soap to brownies in a mug to a cool product review that the kids think is a must have, just an overall good time with the kids.

*Brunch Sunday where I try to post a Brunch recipe every Sunday morning…

How long have you been blogging?

I’m still a Baby Blogger, that’s what I call myself. I started Blogging the end of August 2010 and had a huge learning experience ever since.

How did you get started?

Friends and Family has been telling me for years to start a savings Blog. But ya know little ol’ me didn’t think anyone would read what I have to say, so it took me quite a few years to get the courage up to  just do it… and here I’m …

What kinds of products do you feature on your blog?

I love to feature a variety of products that will make mom and dad’s life easier, being a mom of a Teen, a Tween and a Toddler I try to incorporate every one of my kids and review products for all their age groups as well as some mom treats. I think Mom’s need some special treats sometimes too, so every so often I will feature a mom only treat as well… I also feature books like children’s books, cookbooks anything really that a child could use, need or yes want..:-)

What was your favorite giveaway?

I don’t particular have one favorite Giveaway, all the products I review and/ or Giveaway are products that I think all mom’s and dad’s should have. If I don’t like a product I won’t feature it, so every product I review and post is my favorite because it made it to my Blog and it made some kind of impact in my life.

Who does your blog appeal to?

I think mostly to Mom’s and dad’s even grandparents anyone who has or works with children, but some readers just like to check out my recipes and savings tips…

What direction do you see your blog going in the future?

I hope in a good direction. I don’t look ahead I enjoy each day to the fullest and hope for the best each and every day. If I just make one person happy or smile on my blog every day that is all I want… But my Goal is to make everyone of my readers happy… so I have a big challenge ahead of me..which brings me to the next question J

What is the biggest challenge you have faced so far with your blog?

The juggling between family, my day job and then keeping up with the Blog to me is my biggest challenge, but I love it and wouldn’t change a thing. You got to have a challenge to stay motivated.. and I love it

What do you love about blogging?

I love the friends you make,  People you meet and new ideas you gain, it’s just overall a totally different but great “world” I enjoy letting people know what I think about a product or a recipe and be able to share my knowledge of savings with everyone who likes to listen J

Do you have a blogging pet peeve?

The only one I have is if other Bloggers take someone’s post and claim it as their own, just link back to who posted it. You don’t take a cookbook and claim the recipe that you made for dinner, so why claim a post you go somewhere else. Just my two cents…

Do you have any advice for the readers entering your giveaway? newbie review bloggers?

Newbie’s ( mhh I’,m still new….)BUT  Don’t give up, follow your dream. It may be hard and it may be a rocky road at times but if you chase your dream you will get where you want to be. Believe in yourself, that will get you further then you can ever dream… also ask questions.. I know I will ( and I’m sure lot of other Blogegrs will, too) always help and if I can’t help I will find someone who can… that’s how we learn… no one is perfect but we can work towards being close to it… and enjoy your blog don’t make it a MUST do thing  let it be fun, too.

Readers about Giveaways: I always enter Giveaways towards the middle.. sometimes I have luck sometimes I don’t, check back often to see if you have another option to enter like daily tweets etc…

Tell me some of your favorite blogs that you read.
