Yoga Planet Review
My kids are really enjoying yoga and Barefoot Books has an excellent and affordable way to bring yoga into your children’s lives. Yoga Planet is an interactive card deck set that has “50 fun activities for a Greener World.” Created by Tara Guber and Leah Kalish and with illustrations by Sophie Fatus this is such a fun and creative way to help your children connect to the world around them.
From Yoga Planet:
Air-breathe to calm, focus and nurture yourself
Earth-build a foundation of strength
Fire-become inspired with passion and conviction
Water-be soothed and refreshed
Space-find time to unwind and think
We tried lots of the activities in this card deck set and I really enjoyed interacting with my children as we giggled and smiled through all of them. My personal favorite is the “Under the Sea” activity where you pretend to put on a wet suit and scuba gear and use your imagination as you “swim” using deep breathing and hand signals while looking for treasure. When you and your kids return to the “boat” it is fun to share what treasures you found below the sea.
My kids loved the new yoga poses that they learned including the “Bat”, “Flower” and tandum “Knapsack” that I especially enjoyed because it promoted cooperation between my little ones in order to complete the pose.
The Yoga Planet Card Deck Set is a lot of fun and the sturdy construction of these double sided cards with handy storage box makes it durable and long lasting too. We will definitely be using these activities quite a bit and recommend it as a wonderful gift idea.
You can purchase the Yoga Planet Card Deck from Barefoot Books for only $10.99!
