Donate Your Car for Animal Shelters

Before we moved to Nova Scotia in 2009, John had to get rid of a hunk of junk that had been sitting in his driveway collecting dust for a number of years. This hunk of junk was his old minivan which made the trip when he moved from Alberta to Ontario years before. It died soon after he moved and he never bothered to get it fixed. Trust me, this van was in bad shape. The floor had rusted out in some parts and you could see the ground. I’m actually surprised that no one complained about it since many subdivisions don’t allow you to have derelict vehicles in your yard. We ended up calling a junkyard to come and tow it away and they gave John $40 for it…he was embarrassed to even tell me what he got for it.

I recently discovered another way you can deal with abandoned vehicles that you no longer want- donate car for pets! Your vehicle may be of no use to you, but the money it’s worth could be used to help fight against animal cruelty, give animals medical treatment and caring for animals with no home in your local area. These poor animals are innocent and when people donate cars they don’t want, the money goes right to the animals who need it most.

It’s so easy too. They will come and pick up your vehicle and sell it for the highest possible value. I support animal charities which is why I just loved the sound of this when I heard about it. I know if I ever have another vehicle I don’t use and need to dispose of, I will be thinking car donations animals!

I was financially compensated for this post. Opinions expressed are my own.
