Blog Spotlight | Mom to Bed by 8

Today I would like to welcome Teri from Mom to Bed by 8. I had a chance to learn more about her blog and here’s what she had to say…

Please tell me about yourself.

I am a busy mom of four under the age of 6. My hubby and I have been together for seven years now. I am a mid-western girl living a southern lifestyle. I love to read, blog and spend quality time with my family. I cannot remember my life before I was a mom. I think it is from lack of sleep or love. So we will say that I live each day new, never hold a grudge and never forget a good deed done.

Please tell me about your blog.

Mom to Bed by 8 is a family blog first and formost. We started by offering tips to get parents done with the daily gring and in bed with with their kiddos by 8pm. We still offer our grand advise and tips of the trade. You now will find lots of reviews and giveaways for companies’ products that we have come to know and enjoy.

We are growing everyday and look forward to getting back to our roots and getting to know our readers on a more personal level.

How long have you been blogging?

I have been a blogging writer for well over a year now. Mom to Bed by 8 just celebrated their 6th month anniversary.

How did you get started?

I wanted to share how I as a mom to three at that time, get all of my chores and cares completed by 8pm. Even today I still make it to bed right around 8pm (even though I may have my pc in hand with me!).

What kinds of products do you feature on your blog?

We do them all! We specialize in more kid friendly lines. Though we also offer jewelry, accessories, household items, clothing and so much more.

What was your favourite giveaway?

Kranich’s Jewelers Diamond Key Necklace. We have a wonderful working relationship with Kranich. I love diamonds, don’t you?

Who does your blog appeal to?

Moms tend to make up a large part of our audience. Though I have seen a few men win lately as well! Exciting for us to see a change.

What direction do you see your blog going in the future?

We hope to stick to offering review & giveaways. Though I would like to also offer daily themes. For example: Get it together Mondays (where I can offer advise on weekend recovery and how to get pumped up for a great week) and Thursday Thorn (a linky were we can share our grumps for the week. Just to get them off our chest and have the support of each other).

What is the biggest challenge you have faced so far with your blog?

Opening up about my weight problem which I did during Blogapalooza. I hope to write more on my struggles, successes and failures at getting to a heathly weight.

What do you love about blogging?

I love sharing my life and my opinions with other who want to read. I like to touch lives and tail tales of the good days and the bad. It makes me smile to see comments on an everyday style post. It shows that I was heard!

Do you have a blogging pet peeve?

SPAMMERS BEWARE!!! I am not spam friendly and gladly voice it.

Do you have any advice for the readers entering your giveaway? newbie review bloggers?

Advice: Make sure you take advantage of the extra entry page. It really helps. If you have the time, enter and tweet alot. I have seen so many winners from daily tweets.

Newbies: Don’t Give Up. It takes a lot to get people to start visiting. List your giveaways everywhere. Ask twitter friends to retweet for you (offer to do the same for them). Get brave and email your compan contacts. You may get a lot of no’s before you see a yes but someone will give you a chance.

Tell me some of your favourite blogs that you read.

I love Boobies, Babies & A Blog. Her blunt style really keeps me coming back. I have grown to really attidue and quirks.

I also am a big fan of Thanks, Mail Carrier. I just love how clean and well written her reviews are. I think of her as a challenge.

Last we also read Simply Stacie daily. I look to your Facebook and blog frog for tips and blogging advice. I have learned so much from you. Thank you for always answering my questions and always sharing the best with all of us.
