My Review:

Christmas is my favourite time of year. I love decorating and getting into the Christmas spirit. One way to get into a festive mood is by watching movies and I have been watching Christmas movies since VCRs first came on the market in the 80s. One of my new favourites is The Search for Santa Paws because it’s a movie about the true meaning of Christmas. I found it both entertaining and funny, and also heartwarming and it tugged at my emotions. I like movies that I can walk away smiling with and this was one of them.

It was reminiscent of the movie, Annie, with the orphanage, the singing, the dog and especially the nasty house mother. John said it also reminded him of Annie, but with a bit of a Christmas feel. I guess not really the story of Annie, but there were a few similarities I noticed (ie. the house mother having a thing for the dog catcher which I believe was in Annie too)!

I fell in love with the orphan, Quinn. She was so sweet and has the voice of an angel. I loved  her songs. I really felt for all those orphans and how they weren’t allowed to have toys and had to endure the wrath of Miss Doubt everyday.

Some of my favourite scenes were at the North Pole with Santa, Mrs. Claus, the reindeer and the elves. It looked exactly as I imagine it would with the Christmas colours, snow, lights and all those toys! It was neat seeing Santa and Paws take off with his reindeer as he was headed for New York City to give out the presents there.

I was sad when Santa and Paws got separated in New York City. I was worried for both of them. Poor Santa being hit by a cab and then robbed (even though the guy who robbed him was a hoot- watch and see!) and Paws become disoriented and lost and not knowing how to get back to his beloved master.

There’s so much more I want to say, but I want you to watch the movie and I don’t want to ruin it for you. It’s magical and is a timeless classic that I know we will be watching each Christmas to give us all the Christmas spirit. It’s well worth buying and would make a great gift for a person of any age!
