Book Review | Humping Credenzas with the Late Bobby Kennedy

Title: Humping Credenzas with the Late Bobby Kennedy

Author: Robert Ellis Gordon

My Review:

Humping Credenzas with the Late Bobby Kennedy: A Convict’s True Account is…I don’t even know what to say about it, actually.  It is simply…unbelievable.

I confess, I’m a little bit fascinated by the Kennedys (of the 60s era), so I was intrigued by the concept of this book.  And, let me tell you, this is an amazing piece of writing.

It’s clever, it’s intense, it’s thought-provoking.  The premise of the novel is brilliantly unique; yet the genius of Humping Credenzas lies in its execution — seeing inside Bobby’s mind as he revisits countless experiences and encounters throughout his life.  These are not cursory glances at events we all know about; they are rich in detail, details that make this book read like Bobby’s personal journal.

Keep in mind, there are no punches pulled here, not in regard to the honesty about the Kennedys and their flaws and missteps, and not in the realness (and rawness) of language and behavior inside the prison walls.  You can be certain that this is not fluff or whitewashed, but that is not to say that it is gratuitously violent or profane.  It is what it is, as they say…Humping Credenzas is just “real.”

This is a fun read, a book that you will not soon forget.  As an avid book reader, is a pleasure to have read a book that truly is in a category by itself.  Humping Credenzas with the Late Bobby Kennedy is a treat that should be on the “to-read” list of any serious reader.

*I received a copy of this book to review but I was not financially compensated in any way. The opinions expressed are my own and are based on my observations while reading this novel.*
