Book Review | The Arabian Nights

Barefoot Books presents The Arabian Nights written by Wafa’ Tarnowska and illustrated by Carole Henaff. As a young child, I remember my grandfather reading stories to me fromThe Arabian Nights including my personal favorite, Aladdin and the Wonderful Lamp. This fantastic new addition from Barefoot Books includes these well known favorites as well as lesser known stories of Shahrazade and Shahriyar. My son sat wide eyed as I read these stories to him a bit each night. The large size and colorful illustrations are just beautiful and I love how it brings to life the stories.

The Arabian Nights even has a Reader’s Guide on the Barefoot Books website which helped me to open up discussion time with my son. I have never read a Barefoot Book that I didn’t like but The Arabian Nights is exceptional. Recommended for ages 8 and up but my five year old son had little difficulty with this as a read aloud. Any of the parts he didn’t quite understand he would ask me to stop reading and explain it to him.

Escape to the world of ancient Persia, India and the Arab world on a magical adventure……to purchase The Arabian Nights for $24.95 or view the entire selection of Barefoot Books you are invited to visit their website.
