Blog Spotlight | One Little Mister

Today I would like to welcome Nicole from One Little Mister. I had a chance to learn more about her blog and here’s what she had to say:

Please tell me about yourself.

Well, there’s not much to tell.  I am 25 years old and I have an amazing 21 month old little boy. I am currently working on a Bachelors Degree in Business Admin and I own a nightclub.

Please tell me about your blog.

My blog was originally created to document my own journey through mommyhood and all the crazy things that come with it but I have also started featuring product reviews and giveaways on there.  Overall, it’s really just a mix of whatever I feel like writing about.

How long have you been blogging?

Haha, a mere 2 months….I know, I’m a rookie.

How did you get started?

This story is  kind of a sad one and it’s more about WHY I started.  The story is a little long but I’ll tell you the jist of it.  A good friend of mine tragically lost her infant son to SIDS, I was browsing the internet one day looking for some sort of remembrance gift when I came across “Things Remembered,” I don’t remember how but from there I ended up on “Piece of Me” blog and there was a giveaway for a necklace from Things Remembered.  I entered, I didn’t win, but after that I started browsing other blogs and from there I was inspired to start my own.  It’s random, I know, but I’m a pretty random person.

What kinds of products do you feature on your blog?

I am open to featuring anything on my blog as long as it somehow relates back to family, children, mothers, fathers, grandparents or even pets. So, just about anything!

What was your favourite giveaway?

I think the cloth diaper ones are probably my favorite, and the readers really seem to enjoy them.

Who does your blog appeal to?

I would say mainly moms, but I hope it would be a good read for anyone!

What direction do you see your blog going in the future?

Another blog & I have collaborated to create, we’re in the very early stages of it but what I hope to do is make One Little Mister more towards being just about my son and gradually move my product reviews to the new site when it launches.

What is the biggest challenge you have faced so far with your blog?

Oh my gosh, blogger, hands down. The editor is worthless.  Thankfully someone recommended Windows Live Writer to me so things are moving along much better now.

What do you love about blogging?

I love that one day I will be able to look back on past posts about my son and remember how great (or not) things were. I wish I had started the blog sooner, I love the idea of one day being able to share it with him and any future children.

Do you have a blogging pet peeve?

Hm, I really hate to see a review that is strictly a copy & paste job. Don’t get me wrong, I pull info & facts from company sites too but I think it’s important to make your experience and opinion evident as well.

Do you have any advice for the readers entering your giveaway? newbie review bloggers?

For entrants – Check out my giveaway’s tab. If you’ve never entered a blog giveaway it should help you out….or confuse you even more. I hope it does the former though. For newbie bloggers (like myself) – Network, join, sign-up, tweet, share, digg, stumble, make friends…you can’t have a ‘successful’ (maybe ‘well-known’ is a better word) blog without supporting readers. But in order to get that you have to get out there and make people aware that your exists! And don’t just do all those things for yourself, do it for others as well and maybe they’ll return the favorite. At the very least you’re building relationships.

Tell me some of your favourite blogs that you read.

This is hard, there are so many that are great. is a great one, has some great DIY projects.,, & all have great reviews & giveaways. And then of course, I love 😉

How can people find you?

Stop by my blog at, or find me on various social networks – And, another mom & I will be launching a new blog together very soon! Plus like a billion other social networking sites, I’m not hard to find!
