MamaRoo Review

You know you are anticipating a review when you haunt the kitchen window waiting for your favorite FedEx guy to arrive and then get disappointed when he’s only carrying a selection of small boxes full of great products to review on your own blog –, because what you really want is the product that you are going to review as a guest blogger on one of your favorite review and giveaway sites – Simply Stacie!

I approached Stacie a few months ago about guest reviewing a great product on her blog, since she is eminently more successful at this review and giveaway blogging and 4Moms likes to work with eminently successful people – who wouldn’t!

So what was so anticipated?

mamaRoo!  A Green and Chocolate mamaRoo

Now, I’m sure your next question is – a Mama what?

What is a mamaRoo?

mamaRoo is the next generation in baby swing technology with the tagline “It moves like you do”.  My husband calls it the macked-out baby chair!

“We’ve never seen a parent vibrate like a bouncy seat or swing like a swing. But we’ve seen thousands of parents scoop their little ones up in their arms and bounce and sway. And that’s what the mamaRoo does. It moves like you do.”

It has five different motions to simulate a car, a kangaroo, a tree swing, rock-a-bye and an ocean wave.  And each of those motions can be regulated for speed – anywhere from one to five which puts you in the drivers seat to decide on a restful ride or a jazzed up surfing good time on the ocean setting!  But the feature that puts this baby chair over the top is the built in speaker system with built in sounds of the ocean, rain, rainforest, and two other soothing sounds or just plug in your MP3 player!

Within minutes of its arrival, I had the box open and the instructions read – it seemed a simple process to put together so I attempted it myself… and I’m not the handiest person in the room, but if I do say so myself, we went from box to beautiful in less than 10 minutes!  The installation required a Robinson screwdriver for one little screw and the rest went together with just a few clicks!  The step by step instructions actually made sense and the parts themselves were labeled  and had directional arrows to make sure you got everything installed correctly.

Baby Erik loves his new mamaRoo and I have to say that it gets two thumbs up from his parents too.  A couple of other features that I really like about it are that the seat unzips and is machine washable and that it uses an A/C adapter instead of batteries – because you know that Murphy’s Law always comes into play on the day you most need the battery operated swing or bouncer to work is the day it runs out of batteries and so do you… If there is anything I don’t like about it, it’s that the mobile is stationary and I would have loved for it to swing or move in some way to catch the baby’s attention more…  We’ve only had the mamaRoo for a few days and already we know which settings will help soothe him, which ones will get him moving and grooving and which ones will most importantly soothe him to sleep!
