Gorilla Perfume from LUSH Review
I have to be very selective about the perfume I wear because my husband is sensitive to most scents and complains constantly if I try something new. Finally, I have found a perfume that he actually likes and thinks smells great on me. Gorilla perfume was created by Mark and Simon Constantine, a father and son duo, who were bored with perfumes on the market and wanted to “get people excited about good quality fragrances.”
There are several scents of Gorilla perfume available to excite your senses including Imogen Rose, Lust, Orange Blossom, Tuca Tuca and the Smell of Freedom. I had the opportunity to try all of these fragrances in a convenient solid perfume stick. I love perfume sticks because it allows more flexibility with applying as little or as much scent as you like.
In my case, I like a subtle touch with just a hint of sexy sweetness and the Orange Blossom really delivers. It is my personal favorite of the Gorilla Perfume sticks that I tried because it really had a burst of fresh orange blossom scent with neroli oil to give it a touch of warmth and hint of musk. As a native Floridian, I can tell you that this smells just like walking through an orange grove when the trees are ready to burst with fruit. It is simply wonderful! It also passed my husband’s “smell test” and he declared that it smelled, “sexy, subtle and sweet.”
My husband’s favorite scent that I tried was the Gorilla Imogen Rose. It really brought out the authentic sweet scent of a blooming Damask rose garden and was classic and elegant. I appreciate that this scent is not overpowering or synthetic smelling as I have experienced with other rose perfumes in the past. It is soft and subtle and I felt really feminine when I wore this for the day. This is a lovely scent for the holidays and would go really well with that “little black dress.”
The Smell of Freedom was inspired by “people who had suffered hardships.” I liked that it had an earthy and woody scent that had an end note of spice. It was very warm and comforting and I wore this on those days that I just needed a boost.
Tuca Tuca is a fun scent that has definite notes of vanilla and jasmine and was inspired by a “song in Venice” that related flirtatiousness and has a sweet scent. This would be another great scent to wear during the holidays when you are out shopping or having a day with the girls.
For those sexy nights, I highly recommend Lust (wink)….this Gorilla perfume is an alluring and “dirty” scent that mixes Jasmine with the heat of your skin to create a sexy and delicious aroma. My husband really liked it when applied very subtly to my pulse points and I noticed that the scent lasted for a very long time. Let’s just say that on those nights I am feeling naughty after the kids are tucked into bed…this is the one that I reach for as I stop out of a nice hot shower.
Gorilla Perfumes can be purchased in solid stick, atomizer and perfume. Which Gorilla perfume would you like to find in your stocking this year? Head over to LUSH which offers the finest fresh handmade cosmetics. Canadian readers can stock up here.
