Diane Lai Review
Two days ago we had our first snowfall for the season and I am dreading what’s coming. Winter driving, slippery roads, freezing rain, and how dry and sore my skin becomes after being exposed to the elements. My hands are especially bad and my knuckles sometimes get so dry that they crack and bleed. It’s uncomfortable and sometimes downright painful. Plus, my skin is very sensitive and some hand creams actually cause me to get a rash. I think it’s the fragrance and my sensitivity to certain chemical additives like parabens that cause this reaction. I am pretty sure I am allergic to it.
It’s not easy to find products that cater to people with sensitive skin. Often times, the product will say it’s for sensitive skin and then I will check the ingredients and see that it contains all sorts of chemicals. Very misleading.
Diane Lai is a new collection of skincare products made for people (kids & babies too) with sensitive skin. Their products are all-natural and help a variety of conditions like dry skin, eczema and inflammation. They are safe to use on young babies and the founder of Diane Lai was inspired by the birth of her son to create this line after discovering just how many chemicals there were in baby lotions!
The first two products in the collection are Rejuvenate and Soothe. They both include organic shea butter, kernel oil (rich in vitamins A, B, D, E, proteins and lecithin) and cold-pressed, organic grapeseed oil.
Rejuvenate is a daily moisturizing lotion you can use all over your body or wherever you have dry, irritated or itchy skin. It’s great for people who have extremely dry skin that is tight or itchy like red rough patches on your cheeks, folds of the neck, elbows, knees, hands and feet. I love using this on my legs and hands because it absorbs effortlessly and doesn’t burn at all when applied. It’s not greasy in the slightest. I can put it on my hands, massage it in gently and then go right back to my keyboard and not worry about getting it all yucky. It loves my skin feeling so soft and smooth. This would be good to use on my daughter’s chapped cheeks in the winter after she has been playing outside. It costs $45 for 100 ml.
The other product is Soothe, an all-natural cream for skin irritations. It contains natural oils and anti-itch remedies and can be used on bug bites and sunburns. This one is a thicker consistency, but still easily absorbed by the skin. I use it on my heels which are so cracked and sore. It feels so good!! I always try to convince John to rub it on my feet! It costs $34 for 30 ml.
