Agloves Review

The temperatures are dropping here in Utah, which means it’s time to pull out the hats, scarves, and of course gloves. A hat and a scarf isn’t as big of a deal for me as gloves are. Since I have an iPhone–which means a touch screen–normal winter gloves just don’t work with my phone. If I want to use my phone in the cold, I have to remove my gloves to operate it. Wouldn’t it be nice if such a pair of gloves existed that could both keep my hands warm and allow me to use my phone while wearing them?

Oh, wait! There IS a pair of gloves that will now let me do this. Just about everywhere I go now, a cell phone user has some kind of touch screen phone, which means there is definitely a market for winter gloves that you can keep on while still using or playing with your phone. The Agloves were made available to the public on September 29, 2010 with glowing reviews.

I thought Agloves was kind of a funny name, until I learned that “Ag” is the periodic table symbol for silver. Silver is the element that conducts the most energy, and is an important material in these gloves. The gloves are simple knit black gloves with a very lightweight feel. They will match virtually any kind of coat. They have lighter colored specks in them, which are the silver.

I was skeptical that these gloves would even keep my hands warm. I put them to the test earlier today when I went to retrieve my mail in the wind. The rest of me was cold, but my hands stayed warm. I wore the Agloves later on this evening when we went out to run errands, and needed to send a text message to my friend. Though the Agloves boast “precise texting”, I had a few times where I had to press the letters again, and a time or two where the wrong letter showed up on my screen. Even with these misses, the Agloves are the only thing out there that will let you stay connected during the winter season.

Overall, these gloves are great! Agloves are available on their site for $17.99. They are available in different sizes, and I would strongly suggest measuring your hands to make sure you get the best fit. I think that I have small hands, but the S/M seems a little too short for me on the fingers, even though I think I have small fingers as well. These are the perfect gift for your gadget loving friend that has it all.
