Title: The Fashion File: Advice, Tips, and Inspiration from the Costume Designer of Mad Men

Author: Janie Bryant

My Review:

In the past few years one television show has hit the scene and made such a huge impact on viewing audiences and that show is “Mad Men.” This book takes you through a variety of fashion eras {from the 20’s to the 80’s} that influence the show’s costume designer Janie Bryant, the author of this book. She will tell you how you too can achieve some thoroughly modern looks using different times in fasion as a guide.

The pictures are beautifully drawn with also a variety of photographs of some of the stars of the show. There are stories, ideas and examples in this book which will catch you eye and have you leafing through it again and again.

This book is not just about women’s fashion, but men’s as well and other fashion topics include shoes, handbags, make-up, jewelry and a variety of other important fashion information.

If you have even an inking of interest in fashoin or in this televison show, I know you will love this book. The information is concise and is written in a very reader friendly manner. It is always fascinating to me to see how fashion changes through time and history and how also, in many cases, the old becomes new again.
