Book Review | The Adventures of Isaiah James-Beach Boy
Author: Sabrina K. Carpenter
The Adventures of Isaiah James-Beach Boy by Sabrina K. Carpenter is the debut children’s book in what I can easily imagine becoming an ongoing series. The Adventures of Isaiah James-Beach boy is a sweet story about a little boy’s day at the beach and the innocence of a child’s imagination. I liked that it incorporated rhyme and learning too…my children enjoyed counting beach boys, crabs and dolphins. I watched my son’s eyes grow big as he gazed upon Isaiah’s sandcastle that was “miles taller than the shore.” There was a particularly charming scene in which little Isaiah James is sitting on his daddy’s shoulder’s as the sun is getting ready to set and it is time to head home. We live in Florida and this brings back fond memories of our days at the beach which are bittersweet each time the day is over. The illustrations by Doreen Freeman are lovely and my children really related to the story.
I look forward to more books in The Adventures of Isaiah James series……an enjoyable debut children’s book.
