Cheerios Milestones Blog Tour

My girls are growing up so fast. It’s crazy to think that Olivia is almost a teenager in grade 7 and Bridget is now 6 and grade 1. It seems like just yesterday that Bridget was born and Olivia was just starting grade 1. The years really do fly by!

Some of my most cherished memories are of my girl’s milestones and the ones that I remember the most are the firsts- the first steps, first words, first foods, first day of school, first sleepover and one I want to share with you today- the first time taking the bus to school! I was a nervous wreck the first time we had to send Olivia on the bus to school when we lived in Edmonton. I was 9 months pregnant with Bridget and Olivia was starting a new school and going into grade 1. She had never taken the bus before as we had always lived on the base close to the schools and could just walk her there. I remember getting to the bus stop with her long before the bus was set to arrive and had no clue what corner I was supposed to stand on. Luckily some other parents came with their children and I figured out where the bus would pick the kids up. My heart was in my throat when the bus pulled up to the curb. I know it wasn’t even that far of a drive, but I still was so nervous about my baby going on the big school bus.  I am a constant worrier and had all these scary what-if scenarios going on in the back of my mind.

Everything ended up being fine and she got off the bus when I went to the stop to pick her up. I think I breathed a heavy sigh of relief when I saw her familiar backpack and coat exit the bus. That was one milestone that was hard for me as her worry-wart mom! It’s funny because when Bridget took the bus the first time to school, I was much more relaxed about it. I think part of it was that I had been through it before with Olivia and that Bridget had her big sis to watch out for her!

Speaking of milestones, Cheerios is hosting an exciting new contest where moms can share their kid’s milestones and win big time! You could have your child featured on a special edition Cheerios Box and WIN $10,000 towards an RESP from TD Canada Trust.
