Title: When Life Throws You Lemons…Make Cranberry Juice!

Author: Shari Bookstaff

My Review:

The title itself cracked me up…what, someone who thinks the way I do about the stuff that you are given in life? Yup, you bet…she talks about making lemonade out of lemons, however…aren’t lemons really bitter unless you add sugar and a bit of water to it to create the “lemonade” taste? That’s where the cranberries of life come into place, being able to look at the little things in life that happen, and make something out of them!

Sometimes it takes a bit of time to accomplish goals and things you want to in your life…Shari reminds you of that as she talks throughout the book…..not in an exact manor…but in a way that makes you appreciate the good times and the bad times you go through.

Shari talks about things being hopeless, and how hard it was to just keep on keeping on…yet she tried to find the cranberries in each and every thing she went through… She went through more physically than I can ever imagine, and had to deal with owing an ex husband money for taking care of their own children…talk about a jacked up situation here…yet she just kept on with it all.

I love how she has put sayings at the top of each chapter, to give you a taste of what is coming up in that particular chapter! The entire book, though dealing with personal issues, only gives you a taste of what life is like for Shari…she has to deal with more on a daily basis than anyone I have seen…yet disabled or not, she’s handling it…

This is a story of survival…keeping on keeping on when you want to give up. Learning to “not” listen to the little things people say like “God doesn’t give you any more than you can handle…” It is a story you need to read, before you complain about your life…

*I received a copy of this book to review but I was not financially compensated in any way. The opinions expressed are my own and are based on my observations while reading this novel.*
