Book Review | Rodeo in Juliet

Title: Rodeo in Joliet

Author: Glen Rockowitz

My Review:

Wow. I don’t really know where to begin and even as I sit here to try and write a review I am overcome with emotion and I don’t know where to begin. This book really moved me in a way I have not been moved in a very long time.

Glen Rockowitz was dealt a hand in life that just does not seem fair. 28 years old, new baby on the way, young beautiful wife… seems like perfection and them everything changed. Everything.

Glen’s doctor informed him that he had 3 months to live and the brutal honesty in which he writes this book is one that will take you on a journey of your own. I was entranced from the first page and had a hard time putting the book down.

I never quote other reviews, but one reviewer summed it up so nicely that i can’t resist.

Upon reading Rodeo in Joliet, you will want to  1) Bitch slap Glenn, 2) Hug Glenn, and 3) Buy Glenn a beer. {Brenda Halpin}

You have to read this book if you have anyone in your life who has cancer. I have never had to face it myself,  but there are not many if any of us, who have not been touched in some way by it`s grip. Anyone who is involved in the medical field should also read it, because it will help all of us understand in a way I never have before, what it does to a person`s mind and body to deal with this devastating illness.

So many things happen in this book which I don’t want to say because I think you need to read it for yourself and I am telling you go out now and get it. Go to the library, go somewhere because it will change how you think about cancer, about life and about the people around you… wow.

*I received a copy of this book to review but I was not financially compensated in any way. The opinions expressed are my own and are based on my observations while reading this novel.*
