Blog Spotlight | Inspiration Can Be Found Everywhere

Today I would like to welcome Kathie from Inspiration Can Be Found Everywhere. I had a chance to learn more about her blog and here’s what she had to say…

Also be sure to check out her two giveaways running right now for CSN Stores and Thirty One Gifts!

Please tell me about yourself.

I am a wife for 29 years now and the mother of 2 great kids and 1 gray fur ball.

I have 2 of the best jobs in the world – 1st being the keeper of the tax form. I also have a license to “legally” screw the government – or at least that is what I call it. I get to find all the little (or big) loop holes in the tax law so that individuals pay as little tax as possible. The 2nd being a blogger. It really can be a full time job – although I haven’t gotten that far yet!

Please tell me about your blog.

My blog is my “happy” place. I try to pass along fun and jokes and inspiration for every day life to all who read my blog, as well as for me.

How long have you been blogging?

I started blogging in December, 2008. I have some “gaps” when my other job got in the way of regularly posting in 2009, but I think I’ve gotten the juggling a little better under control this past year.

How did you get started?

I started blogging after I had been reading a friends blog for about 9 months and thought it would be a great way to keep and share some of the great emails I had received from friends and family that either made me laugh I wanted to pee my pants (oops sorry) or made me think or just go “hmmmm”

What kinds of products do you feature on your blog?

I’ve just really started blogging about products and web sites that I’ve found. I’ve done a few on household products – my favorite is my VitaMix, some food and diet products and have had a few guest blogger posts. The last one I did was for some great products you can find on

UPDATE – currently reviewing The Fresh Diet Meals – you don’t want to miss these days!

What was your favourite giveaway?

Perhaps I should hang my head in shame as I have yet to hold a giveaway. It is funny though, since just the other day I was thinking I should find a way to make my own basket of things I like to have my first giveaway. I am thinking that I will start gathering things now so that I can have one at summer’s end – kind of like a “Welcome to the Fall!” event.

UPDATE – I’ve had a few giveaways for personal items but I am currently running 2 giveaways that you should check out, where you get to select what YOU want as the prize.

Who does your blog appeal to?

I have tried to make my blog accessible to everyone so that there will be something that appeals to every person that takes the time to “click on over”. If you are looking for something to inspire you for the day – I try to find it. If you just need a laugh – I try to give it. If you are looking to see that you are not alone in this thing we call “life” – I try to provide that too. Hopefully I can achieve at least one of these things every time I post something to my blog.

What direction do you see your blog going in the future?

I would like to keep the above things going, but add more reviews to try and help my readers “find” things a little easier – kind of like being their “personal guinea pig”

What is the biggest challenge you have faced so far with your blog?

The biggest challenge has been finding the time (at some times of the year) to post something to inspire my readers every few days. I’d love to get to the point where I can find things to post every day or at least every other day all year long.

What do you love about blogging?

I love the connection I’ve received from some of my readers. Their comments have been great to help me feel like I’m doing something that others enjoy as much as I am.

Do you have a blogging pet peeve?

I have two – first and foremost I HATE anonymous posters that leave nasty comments or comments that have NOTHING to do with the post. And second – I really hate the “word post” that really isn’t a word that you have to type to have your comments posted. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had to either re-type the “non” words cause I’ve typed them wrong the first time or have to slow down to a crawl so I don’t type them wrong. (not that I am a perfect typist or speller)

Do you have any advice for the readers entering your giveaway?

Since I haven’t had a giveaway yet, I can only go by what I have seen on some other blogs – make sure you do EXACTLY what is asked and make sure I have a way to get in contact with you. Email addresses are a must – either on your own blog or in the entry comment.

newbie review bloggers?

Find things that interest you and post your review based on what YOU wanted to review and what YOU really felt about it. Don’t feel that you have to post only positive reviews – put your feelings out there. Its YOUR blog and YOUR review – claim it as your own and express your true feelings about whatever it is.

Tell me some of your favourite blogs that you read.

The very first blogs I started reading were Jeannie’s Happy World and Yaya’s Stuff – which unfortunately right now are taking a break from blogging because of “real world” stuff.

Another one is Screaming Mimi – I just love her. She has been through a lot lately, but she still posts as much as she can on a variety of blogs she does.

I have lately been into some of the Weight Watchers related blogs: Heather’s Weight Watchers Blog (a real live ex-leader), TJ’s test kitchen, Gina’s Weight Watcher Recipes and Trim the Fat.

I still check out some “non” weight watcher blogs too:$5 dinners, Cooking during Stolen Moments and Lynn’s Kitchen Adventures.

I’ve just started following “The Thirty Project” which is a new blog written by Lisa from Fantabulously Frugal

hmmmm maybe this is why I can’t blog full time – I have too many favorites that I read! And that is just the tip of the iceberg ……. I could be reading blogs for HOURS. Now I need to figure out how to get paid to just read blogs all day

How can people find you?

My blog can be found at

I am also on twitter at kat1126

I’m trying to get my blog to interface with my facebook page but right now its not “consistently” doing it.
