Bed of Nails Review

Both John and I suffer from chronic pain, but in different areas of our body. Mine is mainly in my pelvic floor while his pain is in his back.  We hurt everyday. My pain is more difficult to treat as I will get into next month in V Awareness Week. John’s pain is more well known and he has many more options for treatment than me. One of these products that has really helped him is the Bed of Nails.

The Bed of Nails has taken the Swedish health market by storm and after using it, I can certainly see why. It really works!  I know you are wondering what the heck is it like I was when I first heard about it. It’s a Swedish acupressure mat covered with rounded plastic nails, half the size of a yoga mat, to use at home but also easy to bring with you on a trip. It helps your body get rid of toxin by stimulating energy and triggering your body to heal itself and also helps to release oxytocin and endorphins to relieve pain. It has 6000 acupressure points that work well to relieve tension and help your body to deeply relax.

It may help with:

  • Relieve chronic neck and back pain
  • Reduce stress and anxiety
  • Improve sleep and relieve insomnia
  • Increase energy level
  • Improve circulation
  • Improve skin complexion
  • Relieve constipation
  • Cellulite treatment

I have anxiety and need to relax so I was wanting to give it a try too! I have had acupuncture lots before and always found it helpful. I couldn’t wait to see what a Bed of Nails would feel like.

The first time I tried it I was a bit nervous. I wasn’t sure what it would feel like. I laid it out on my bed and gently laid down on it with my bare back. Oy! What a sensation! It hurt, but nothing I couldn’t stand and it was what I would describe as a “good pain”. My back was burning a little as the muscles got used to the pressure of the nails. I didn’t lie on it very long the first time…maybe 5 minutes. As I have been using it more though, I can now lay on it for longer periods of time (usually about 15 minutes).

However, the amazing part is how I felt AFTER using it. My back was red like I had a sunburn and probably a result of the increased blood flow to my sore, tight back muscles. It felt AMAZING- just like I had gone for an hour back massage! I sleep really good after lying on my bed of nails before bed.

However, John has had the most benefit from the Bed of Nails. He has been using it every night before bed and tells me he has the same burning sensation, but in a good way. He normally wakes up every day with back pain, and was so shocked to discover that his back didn’t hurt in the mornings when he had used the Bed of Nails the night before. This is HUGE for him because his back is always bothering him. We now have to take turns using the Bed of Nails because I love how it relaxes me and he loves how it eases his chronic back pain!

The Bed of Nails comes in both green and pink (I got the pink). They also have a Sun Pillow that looks like it would be good for my neck pain. I am so glad that I had the opportunity to try the Bed of Nails. It’s a fantastic product that is working wonders for both John and I.
