Melissa & Doug Chomp and Clack Alligator Wooden Push Toy Review

I love wooden toddler toys. I think they hold up better and encourage more imaginative play than a lot of the toys on the market today. One of the better ones I’ve had the opportunity to test is the Chomp and Clack Alligator Wooden Push Toy by Melissa & Doug. The Chomp and Clack Alligator was so easy to assemble! That’s always a nice feature with a toy. You just insert the two poles into the bottom alligator part and screw them in so it stays together. Before I opened the box I was a little apprehensive about putting it together. I thought I’d have to assemble the alligators but I didn’t. It was a nice change.

The toy is very high quality. The paint is bright, non-toxic and fun. The alligators are good clackers and any child learning to walk will love to make them chomp their teeth. I love Melissa & Doug products because they are so well constructed. There are no rough edges and that means no splinters. I also love that this toy encourages both gross and fine motor skills. It encourages kids to walk and discover their surroundings while offering them good support for those beginning steps.

I actually found the Gummy Lump website last year while searching for Special Needs Toys. What a coincidence to be writing about them now! Gummy Lump has some great specials going on right now and since Christmas is coming soon you could get a head start on your toy shopping.
