Book Review | A Disagreement in Idaho

Title: A Disagreement in Idaho

Author: Holt E. Glenn

My Review:

A Disagreement in Idaho is a new novel based on illegal immigration and forces the reader to consider what will happen if it continues to be ignored.

The book is full of action and adventure. It is based in Idaho, a state I’m fairly familiar with having lived there two separate times. The book holds true to the state in it’s descriptions of the surrounding areas and reads like a book about the old west. What keeps it from being a western is the contemporary issue of illegal immigration.

In the book, Idaho is over run with illegal immigrants. The governor decides to take matters into his own hands after not receiving Federal help. He cuts off all state and federal funding to illegal immigrants and implements severe fines on employers who hire them.

This decision puts him in direct violation of Federal laws. He has no idea that this course of action will drastically alter his life and families lives. After implementing the new policies life in Idaho starts to change dramatically. The country is affected and the President of the United States is brought into the conflict.

If you have never considered illegal immigration to be a problem in your life, you might want to read this book. No matter what your views on the issue are this book will make martial law, executive orders and states rights become personable in a way you probably haven’t considered before. A Disagreement in Idaho is a book everyone should read this year and contemplate how it might someday affect your life.

I received a copy of this book to review but was not financially compensated in any way. The opinions expressed are my own.
