Laughing Lindsay

Today I would like to welcome Lindsay from Laughing Lindsay. I had a chance to learn more about her blog and here’s what she had to say…

Please tell me about yourself.

I’m a 20 year old (21 in November) college student.  I’m enrolled in my college’s 5 year Master’s program in education.  I’m getting an Interdisciplinary in Social Studies and an endorsement in Special Education.  I’m from a small town and don’t mind that (most of the time).  I’m an only child and have a boyfriend who I’ve been with for almost 2 years.

Please tell me about your blog.

Laughing Lindsay started out on Blogspot and just moved to its own domain with WordPress a little over a week ago!  I try to feature things that appeal to moms and the non-moms out there!  I like the usual college student things as well as some kid things since I’m an education major.  I always have a couple of giveaways going.

How long have you been blogging?

I started blogging in June 2009.

How did you get started?

I’ve been a sweeper since I was 15 or so.  I noticed a few years ago that blogs were becoming a trend in hosting sweeps.  So, I decided to start blogging myself.

What kinds of products do you feature on your blog?

I feature all kinds of products!  I love beauty supplies, clothing, books, movies, music, school supplies, technology and more!

What was your favourite giveaway?

Oh wow! Just one? I liked the Krispy Kreme one I just did and the Starbucks coffee one I have going on right now.

Who does your blog appeal to?

I try to make my blog appeal to many people.  Since I’m not a mom I’ve realized how many giveaways/sites are aimed specifically at moms.  So, I try to offer my readers products they might not find at the typical mommy blog.

What direction do you see your blog going in the future?

Well, since I just paid for a year of hosting and domain, I hope it gets a little bigger. I just want to try and feature products that I like and that my readers can enjoy as well.

What is the biggest challenge you have faced so far with your blog?

My biggest challenge is staying on schedule during the school year.  I use a planner and have to stick to it with my papers, projects, posts, etc.

What do you love about blogging?

I love lots of things!  I love reading comments from my readers, it proves to me that people are actually reading what I write.  It’s a good feeling to know that people out there care.  : )  I also LOVE the networking opportunities it brings me.  I actually attended my first blogging conference this summer and it was awesome!  I enjoy meeting other bloggers and getting to know them.

Do you have a blogging pet peeve?

Hmm… It bugs me when a review doesn’t contain any real photos.  I understand that a book, dvd, cd or something like that doesn’t call for anything besides a stock image.  However, if you have to bake/make/wear something then I think it should include a photo.

Do you have any advice for the readers entering your giveaway? newbie review bloggers?

For giveaways:  I would use those extra entries!  I mean by simply following me on Twitter you will get an extra entry into almost all of my giveaways!  It’s really simple!
For newbie review bloggers, just know that while I really enjoy it, it can be a lot of work.  You have to be organized.  Also, don’t lose any of your contacts!

Tell me some of your favorite blogs that you read.

Wow!  I have a lot!  Well, I love Simply Stacie, obviously.  I also enjoy The Post-It Place (, 3 Boys and A Dog ( where you can sometimes find blogging tips in addition to reviews and giveaways, Earl’s Daughter (, Thrifty Mama B ( posts some great deals, Bless Their Hearts Mom ( has many awesome book reviews, and the Clan McLeod (  I also enjoy reading Cutest Kid Ever’s ( letter to her son every Saturday. Oh, and I LOVE to find recipes on Southern Plate (!  Haha!  That’s just a sampling.  I follow many blogs! : )

How can people find you?

I’m on Twitter ( and Facebook (
