Lay’s Chip Trips Program Update
I am a bit late in getting this post up because of all that’s been happening this summer in my personal life! I have to say I never thought that I would need to use my Lay’s Chip Trip points to travel to out of province to see a sick relative. But that’s what happened and I was grateful for the discounts that the Lay’s Chip Trip points offered me!
We had planned on going whale watching, but ended up having to forgo those plans when we found out John’s dad was in the hospital. Things were not looking good so we decided to make the 20 hour trip to Ontario to see him in the  hospital. I knew that this wasn’t going to be a trip for pleasure and that we wouldn’t be able to do any sightseeing, but I still wanted to see what Chip Trips they had in the Hamilton area and if there were any we could use.
I ended up checking out the hotels in the area. The Comfort Inn was a good one. You stay one night and get the 2nd night for 50% off for 50 points. Any little bit helps with costs. I have stayed in Comfort Inns in the past and was always satisfied with my experience. You can count on them for clean, adequate rooms and nice, friendly helpful staff. The prices are usually pretty good as well. This time was no different. I was grateful for the Chip Trip Points I had to help cover the costs.
Unfortunately John’s dad passed away so many of our plans had to go on the backburner while we tried to deal with his affairs. Now, that we are back in Nova Scotia, I do hope to get on our whale watching trip. It’s something I always wanted to do. John has some time off so a day trip may be what the doctor ordered.
Of course, there’s always Boston Pizza which doesn’t involve a day trip! They have fantastic food and we have the coupon for getting the four cans of Pepsi for free with our meals for take out or delivery.
I wanted to let you all know that Lay’s Chip Trips and the Canadian Tourism Commission (CTC) has partnered up! Check out the CTC’s Locals Know site and discover some great spots and deals that you might not have found out about otherwise. I checked my local area and found some places I would like to check out including this one in Cobequid Bay! Looks like a pretty spot!
Summer isn’t over yet and I plan to make the most of the rest of the time left and get some more fun Lay’s Chip Trips in!
I am participating in the Lay’s Chip Trips program by Mom Central on behalf of Frito Lay Canada. I received Lay’s Chip Trip points and a gift card to off-set my trip costs to facilitate this post. The opinions on this blog are my own.
