Green Works Review
I am no stranger to Green Works cleaning products. I like their laundry detergent and all-purpose cleaner and it has become one of my most trusted brands to get the job done right the first time. I also like that Green Works products are different from many of the other cleaners on the market. Why? Because of the SOURCE of their ingredients. Many are actually from food you can find in your fridge!
Cleaners have four components: surfactants, solvents, fragrance and buffers. Here’s a breakdown of what you will find in a Green Works product:
- Surfactants (make the product foam up and removes the dirt): Derived from corn, coconut and other renewable resources.
- Solvents (cleans and helps bind the cleaner together): Ethanol solvent is derived from corn.
- Fragrances (cleans and gives scent): Essential oils like lemon and lavender.
- Buffers (keep the pH stable): Boric acid (weak acid from fruits and plants) and potassium carbonate (a water-soluble white salt).
I received two Green Works products to try out in my home: Green Works Naturally Derived Glass & Surface  Cleaner and Green Works Naturally Derived Dishwashing Liquid.
I love a clean house and spend a chunk of time each day on its upkeep. Part of my cleaning routine is dusting and making sure everything is nice and pretty. I used the Green Works Glass & Surface cleaner everyday to wipe down my new black tile kitchen counter top (Thanks John!) and once a week on all the mirrors in my house to get rid of dust and fingerprints. It works awesome and getting off dirt and making the surfaces sparkle and shine. I like its fresh scent and how it isn’t overpowering. I have used this product many times before. It doesn’t leave streaks on mirrors or windows like some other products I have used in the past.
The Green Works Naturally Derived Dishwashing Liquid is one that I hadn’t tried before. We finally have our nice new double sink in our kitchen and it’s such a treat to FINALLY be able to use it. I went MONTHS and MONTHS washing dishes in my bathroom sink! Â The dishwashing liquid works like a charm getting my dishes nice and squeaky clean. It works on stuck on foods and grease. I usually let them soak in the soapy hot water so that it just wipes clean without much scrubbing. I also like the fresh scent and how gentle it is on my hands. I will be looking for this product in the stores on my next trip to the grocery store.
Green Works products are available in grocery, drug and mass retailers across Canada. Look for these products on your next trip!
