Balls’N’Bands Review

Most of the workout DVDs that I own require some kind of equipment. Of course, you can always improvise and find household items to use. However, if it is a DVD that you do enjoy doing, then it just makes more sense to invest in some exercise equipment. Balls’N’Bands is a one-stop shop for all your fitness equipment needs!

Balls’N’Bands offers a large variety of products and caters to many different types of exercise programs like Pilates, Yoga, Weights, etc. If its related to exercise, you can likely find what you need here!

Of course, they are well-known for exercises balls and exercises bands- it is in their namesake right? I received a Medium Red Resist-a-Band Exercise Band Loop for my review. They are made of natural latex rubber and wonderful for developing strength and endurance. They are in one continuous loop and they will never knot. They work well for:

  • Conditioning and strengthening upper arms
  • Balance
  • Toning and strengthening hips, legs, thighs, shoulders, back and arms

They bands lie flat and have a narrower width. This makes them more comfortable to use than the average band. I have never used a band before, but this one felt fine to me.

Since I have never used any kind of exercise bands before, I wasn’t really sure where to begin. I know they are good for resistance training and for building muscle. My upper arms need the most work and are flabby. I don’t like them.  I want to build some definition in them so they have a more defined look. One thing I wished is that the product came with instructions on how to use it. I have been putting both my arms through the band and then pulling apart and creating resistance that way. I think I need to find a DVD workout that uses them so I can get the full benefits. One thing that is cool I wanted to mention as well is that they are very portable. You can bring them with you easily when you travel.  The one I received cost $3.50 which is very affordable.

The next product I tried was the TheraBand Exercise Tubing with Black Cushioned Handles (Heavy Green). Again these work great for resistance training to improve strength, and range of motion. I like the large handle which is comfortable and easy to grip. The come in six strengths ranging from Thin to Special Heavy and each colour is a different strength. A full Set includes a Tubing Guide exercise poster and TheraLoop Door Anchor. I wasn’t sent the poster, but I wish I was. I felt a bit lost since I wasn’t sure if I was using it properly. Again, this would be a good one to try if you have a DVD or book to give you instructions on how to use. You can buy this particular one for $10.95 right from their website.
