Book Review | The Prophecy

Title: The Prophecy (Watchers Chronicles, The)

Author: Dawn Miller

My Review:

This is the first of a series called “The Watcher Chronicles” in which five young friends embark on a journey that leads them to the spiritual realm of good and evil… angels and demons as it were. It’s a thriller which takes place in St. Louis where the friends discover that a trauma from their past is haunting all of them and they will soon discover that there is real evil {as well as good} present in the world.

Each of the main characters {Jonah, J, Jenna Sam and Carly} keep having the same dreams bringing up the past and what had happened. Sam contacts the others as he has a feeling something bad is happening and they come to realize that they are what are known as “watchers;” spiritual warriors fighting for humanity.

The book is under the category of youth fiction, but I know it would appeal to a much broader range of age groups. It also falls under the Christian label, but I hope that does not turn anyone away from trying it because it is an awesome book and it’s not “churchy” and it does not preach at people. It’s really about faith and how we all need it in our lives.

There is a sticker at the top of my book {I assume from the publisher} and it says “guaranteed good read.” Everyone likes different things so I won’t guarantee it in my review, but I know I loved it. It was suspenseful, creepy at times, and it left me wanting… Wanting to see what happens in the next book!

*I received a copy of this book to review but I was not financially compensated in any way. The opinions expressed are my own and are based on my observations while reading this novel.*
