Book Review | The Oceanology Handbook

Title: The Oceanology Handbook: A Course For Underwater Explorers (Ologies)

Author: Professor Pierre Arronax

My Review:

What a little treasure this book is. I felt like I was reading an artifact when I looked at it because of it’s “antiqued” design.

This book was authored by Professor Pierre Arronax who was part of the scientific crew who were on Captain Nemo’s submarine Nautilus. In it he gives us an insiders look at the amazing world of the ocean and all it’s mysteries.

There are maps, diagrams, details about tools and instruments they used, talk of underwater treasure, myths, sea creatures, lessons in early diving and so much more. It’s hard to believe that such a short book could contain so much valuable information!

Also included in the book is a removable Beaufort scale for wind measurement, activities on every page and four pages of
colorful and beautiful stickers to use. {Which might lead you to think it’s a kids book, but my boyfriend thinks it is an amazing book and he is not a kid…hehe. He and I both love the ocean so we think this  book is a great one to add to the library.

I would definitely recommend picking one up for yourself and any little explorers you may have in your life.

*I received a copy of this book to review but I was not financially compensated in any way. The opinions expressed are my own and are based on my observations while reading this novel.*
